Although our skin is able to replace old cells with new ones, over time this natural exfoliating process begins to slow down.
Chemical peel treatment involves a solution of one or more exfoliating agents (such as AHA’s) being applied to the face to remove the rough upper layer of skin and to stimulate rejuvenation of the new skin cells. They generally result in tighter, smoother skin that is relatively free from fine lines and blemishes such as age spots and uneven pigmentation.
Chemical peels are classified as light (superficial), medium and deep according to the depth that they penetrate the skin. Light and medium facial peels are used to remove superficial wrinkles and discolouration, and deep chemical peels are used for more severe conditions such as severe acne. Generally, the deeper the chemical peel the longer the recovery time required. After light chemical peels. Patients generally return to their normal activities immediately however medium and deep chemical peels can take longer to heal.
Chemical peels can be repeated as necessary to achieve and maintain the desired results

The Oxygenating Trio Facial (Professional Skin Care) $150.
To “Activate, Detox & Oxygenate” the skin.
This oxygenating trio therapy is designed to “wake up” and stimulate the skin. This three-step process encourages circulation and repair of the skin with a range of ingredients well known for their skin care benefits and antiageing properties.
By promoting oxygen and blood flow from within the skin, and reducing the damaging free radicles that contribute to aging, this oxygenating therapy helps give your skin a healthy radiant glow.
Oxygenating Process:
Step 1 Activate: A combination of protective enzymes, vitamin B, and antioxidant ingredients are applied generously to promote circulation.
Step 2 Detox: Pumpkin seed oil nutrients, oxygen carrying components and wild cherry bark anti-inflammatory agents are added to drive step 1 and maximise oxygenation of tissues.
Step 3 Deliver: A topical oxygen source is combined with alpha and beta hydroxyl acid’s. These acids are found in most cleansers and unglue the bonds that hold the dead skill cells and perform a rejuvenating exfoliation.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) and Beta Hydroxy Acid facials from $130
Alpha and beta hydroxyl acids are well known products with the ability to unglue bonds that hold dead cells to the surface of your skin, making it a very effective cleanser. AHA and BHA’s are found in most cleansers for daily skin care management. The Skinicity facial range has formulated these ingredients for a more active treatment for the skin. Their benefiting properties lead to rejuvenation of the skin.
Lactic Acid facial peel (Cleopatra’s favourite)
The active component of this facial is a substance naturally occurring in milk and sugars. Like Cleopatra bathing in milk, Lactic Acid is suited for the exfoliation of normal skin types and has the added benefit of inhibiting tyrosinase production, which assists with pigment correction and even skin tone. It leaves the skin moist and glowing. Useful for dry skin includes a deep cleanse, skin analysis, peel, extractions and infused vitamins.
Glycolic Acid Facial Peel
Glycolic Acid derived from sugar cane proven to be a very effective exfoliator. This peel has strong degreasing properties which makes it perfect for over productive oily skin. This peel helps control oils, reduce fine lines and provides a more even and smooth skin texture.
Salicylic Acid Facial Peel
Salicylic base is derived from aspirin and is known for its smoothing benefits and acne corrective properties. The salicylic peel is effective where the acne is cystic and painful having a “drawing” effect. This also has the benefit of reducing the amount of cell waste that contributes to clogged pores and breakouts. This BHA is also an anti inflammatory agent, assisting to reduce redness and swelling of problematic acne.
AHA AND BHA Facial Peel Process
Step 1: Begins with a thorough cleanse using a glycolic acid cleanser, then tone with products suited to your skin type. Magnifying lamp assessment is done and areas targeted for various treatments.
Step 2: The AHA/BHA acid is applied evenly over your face and left for a short period of time allowing it to take effect. The product will generally stimulate a warm or tingling sensation, but is not painful.
Step 3: Extractions are the removal of blackheads and other substances that clog pores. This is done through applying pressure with a small sterilised circular tool, aided by the releasing action of the AHA.
Step 4: Finish your treatment with a combination of products suited to your skin such as:
Vitamins that can be infused into the skin after peels
Niacinamide Vitamin B3: a strong antioxidant that targets impurities, lightens and brightens, and hydrates the skin.
C serum (Vitamin C): targets skin integrity, collagen production, and strengthens elastin.
Vitamin A: to encourage turn over of skin and production of new skin
Vitamin E: encourages the healing process of the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid: for overall hydration of the skin.
